PROVOCADORA

The summer memories of Vera at her grandfather’s home, will be interrupted by some situations that will make us question the reality of her actions, fears and attitudes. A mature point of view of a broken childhood, a discovery.

From the beginning Provocadora (“Provocative”) has focused on child sexual abuse. It was in the face of a great crisis with the project that turned in this peculiar direction. We positioned ourselves in the memories of a traumatic memory. Unstructured, ambiguous or null memories. It was impossible to shoot it from naturalism.

This short film is a journey to knowledge, which fluctuates by associations through the layers of consciousness, those memories that hide others. The more truth, the more naked and unprotected, the more exposed, the more uncomfortable.

At the end of the screenings I received different kinds of feedback: those who understood it and those who did not want to understand it, often asking me for an explicit confirmation afterwards. Meeting these reactions made me understand that the thesis of the short film works, since the main axis of the shortfilm moved inbetween rational memory and the difficulty of validation in dissociated traumas.
